Waenshuiskraal wedding photos
The bridal couple
Let me share with you the wedding photography of Divan and Marlee at Waenhuiskraal I got to be the official wedding photographer at.
It was a cool and cloudy winters morning in July and as we driving on route to the beautiful country wedding venue Waenshuiskraal. Waenshuiskraal is a 15-minute drive south-east of Pretoria.
Cloudy and rainy weather is not the norm for Gauteng winter time, however, on this day, we had rain and many dark clouds.
Marlee was very concerned about the weather, but we reassured her that clouds
bring a very special element to your photos
Arriving at the venue, the girls were finishing their hair and makeup and getting ready to assist Marlee in getting to her beautiful wedding dress.
Divan and the boys got ready in a flash – talking about flash, the boys were all recognised by some or other superhero pin. Divan being Superman. (He is kinda obsessed with Superman, just between us 😉 )
After Geroge photographed all the groom’s details, there was some time for some of just the guys before Marlee and Divan were to meet in the chapel for a “first look”.
As Marlee made her way to the chapel the cloudy weather turned into a misty rain.
I love first looks, and every single bridal couple we have done one for has agreed. A first look is just so much more intimate, romantical and a huge stress reliever for the bride.
After some tears were shed (by the bride and groom) we made our way out of the chapel and the rain stopped. Blessed!
Divan and Marlee is a beautiful couple with lots of close friends and an amazing support structure.
About Waenhuiskraal
Waenshuiskraal is situated in farmland, this brings very unique elements for wedding photography. The untarred roads. Trees. Huge trees coloured in autumn colours. The venue has thought well about
the photo side of a wedding and strategically placed a lot of old farm elements around the area.
It has a lovely chapel leading onto an entertainment area for pre-drinks. A nice reception hall that is truly country style with a separate area for the buffet.
Now Divan said to George and myself ” vannaand gaan ons LEKKER eet”, but we did not except this quality of food from a wedding venue. Look we eat wedding food nearly every weekend, and after a while, everything starts to taste the same, but this kitchen can cook!
We really did being doing Marlee and Divan’s wedding photographers. We had literally all the season in one afternoon and were really spoilt for choice as were to take photos.
“Superman” we really did enjoy spending time with you and your “Wonder Women”. We hoped you are enjoying Bali etc when you guys get back from honeymoon Pretoria should be back to its old (not so very cold) self.
Love Jenna and George
Fun fact: Marlee was a bridesmaid for a friends wedding which we also photographed (Lindi en Stephan was lekker om julle weer te sien)
How beautiful! Fall weddings in the country always look so pretty. You’ve really captured the natural beauty and the couple’s love well 🙂
The photos turned out so beautiful! I’m sure the sight of clouds would make any bride nervous. In the end, it probably was cooler and prevented any squinting too!
You provide the best wedding photography! Love the photos!
Oops, I responded in the ‘contact me’ section. Never mind me!! I was just saying the pictures are fabulous, and I love them all but that black and white one is my favorite. It’s perfect!
These are lovely photos. It is pretty easy when couples look this good too!
So many beautiful images. Do you find that you stick to one type of preset or just what you feel looks best in that particular photo?
Very pretty. We never had wedding photos.
