What is the one thing that you can count on when living in South Africa, lots of very hot and sunny days in summer time, and oh yes the afternoon or early evening thunder showers.
Saturday morning and we find ourselves traveling to a venue we have not yet been to before, Blaauwpoort Wedding and Conference venue in the North West Province. This is a classic bush-veld setting and it is just around the corner so to speak.
This very special venue which received the silver platinum award (brides choice 2010 ) was the choice of Rikus and Rochelle.
Arriving at the venue the sun was beating down, beetles humming and a groom sitting in the comfort of an air-conditioned vehicle writing his speech.
Now for those frequent blog readers this is a change, it is not very often we get greeted by the groom at a venue, so this was a nice change for us.
Meeting up with Rochelle and the rest of her bridal party we could see why they needed a BIG unit, just imagine this, the bride and four bridesmaids spent the previous night together and then all of them getting ready in the same unit, loads of suitcases, coat hangers, make-up and hairdryers.
Rikus and the boys took things a little more relaxed than the girls, as you would expect from the guys on an away wedding at a stunning venue and a very hot summers day.
One can see that Rikus is a very special companion, in the time we spent with him we learnt so much about him, he is a planner and a romantic, Rochelle is a very lucky bride to have Rikus at her side.
Blaauwpoort Wedding and Conference venue offers a large variety in photographic options, from all the indigenous thorn trees to the balcony of the very high thatched roof reception hall.
This is a real gem and only 45 minutes from Pretoria.
Lots of luck on your venture for the next two years may this be a very special time in your lives.
Love from George and Jenna.
