Once we’ve chosen your date and time, your slot is secured with a booking deposit. This ensures your cake smash setup, cake, and studio prep are reserved and ready. You don't need to bring anything—everything is handled for you.
THEN, ENJOY A FUN & BABY-LED SESSION
Your session is relaxed, playful, and fully guided. We start with a clean portrait, move to the cake smash, and finish with a warm bubble bath. I work at your baby’s pace to keep things calm, happy, and full of genuine expressions.
FINALLY, RECEIVE YOUR ORDERING GALLERY & DOWNLOAD YOUR PHOTOS
After your session, you’ll receive an online ordering gallery where you select your included images. You can also add extras—digital images, canvas prints, blockmounts, albums, or keepsakes. Q: CAN I CHOOSE MY BACKDROP OR SETUP?
A: Absolutely!
I’ll send you a link to all my available backdrops and themed setups. You choose your favourite, and I style everything around it. Easy and fun.
Q: WHAT IF YOU DON’T HAVE THE THEME I WANT?
ANo problem — just email me your idea or inspiration.
If you book more than two weeks in advance, I can usually create something custom. If your session is booked last-minute, you’ll choose from the themes I already have, and I’ll help you pick something beautiful that still fits your vision.
Q:CAN I CHOOSE MY CAKE DESIGN & FLAVOUR?
A For consistency, safety and the best photos — no.
I provide a simple 15cm white vanilla cake and decorate it to suit your chosen theme. After photographing cake smashes for over 17 years, I’ve learned that simple cakes: smash the best * photograph beautifully *are the safest for little tummies
*help babies focus on the fun (not the taste!)
One-year-olds rarely eat the cake — the magic is in the smashing, not the flavour.
Q: CAN I BRING MY OWN CAKE?
A: Yes, you’re welcome to bring your own cake if you need something specific — for example:
a very themed or detailed cake
allergy-friendly ingredients
dietary restrictions your baby requires
If you choose to bring your own cake, you’ll receive a R300 discount on your session.
Q: CAN WE DO THE SESSION OUTSIDE?
All cake smash sessions take place in my studio.
This allows me to work around your baby’s nap time—not the weather or harsh daylight. The controlled environment also keeps babies calm, warm, and safe while still giving you beautiful, consistent images.
Q: Do you offer any albums, prints, canvases, etc?
A: Absolutely!
I offer beautiful, handcrafted albums, blockmounts, and professional prints that are made to last. Once your ordering gallery is ready, you’ll be able to choose any extras you’d love — from wall art to keepsake albums — all directly through your online gallery.
You only order what you want, when you’re ready, and when you’re confident about your favourite images. No pressure. Just beautiful, high-quality artwork for your home.
Q: WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE SESSION?
You’ll receive an online ordering gallery.
