Barry and Mari’s Wedding day at Hippo Hollow – Hazyview

Who could have thought that we would have so much fun and excitement last weekend at Barry and Mari’s wedding.

We knew we were in for something special when the invite read Hippo Hollow, down in Hazyview.

All started out well on Friday afternoon, we arrived at the venue, had a chat with Allan who were in charge of the hardware stuff, waited on Barry to finish his round of golf, with all his mates off course.

After going through the whole matoot of the next day, Mari decided that she would get started on the tables in the mean time, we went for dinner, and as we were dining along out came the hippo’s, yep BIG ones too, and grazed right in front of us on the venue’s lawn.

Had no problem with all the nosy visitors just off the lawn, made sure everybody saw them and then made their way back into the Sabie River.

Bright and early Saturday morning when George went to check on the tables and what Mari had achieved previous evening, there it was, a big, blue, burst open toe, seems as they were grinding along, somehow the table collapsed, and came down on Mari’s big toe, we were all worried about the fit of the shoe, pressure on the toe, and us photographers nightmare, would she be able to walk, first of all it was quite a distance she had to walk from the other side of the river over a stunning suspension bridge, and then the stand during the ceremony, then only came our turn to negotiate that toe for the romantic shoot, but luckily the Dr drained the toe and sedated the toe, phew that was a day and a half.

But besides all the Hippos, snakes and toes we enjoyed this wedding very much, Mari your dress was perfect, and Barry, the tie looked good on you man.

You two make a great couple, and we look forward to seeing you guys soon.

Love from Jenna and George
