Recently Anrike contacted me regarding her second baby daughter. She was already 3 months old but they never took her for a newborn baby photo session, and she was looking for similar images to some of my previous newborn baby shoots. Being 3 months old already we knew we would get many of the photographs, but that it would not be possible to get all, we did however manage to get some of lill’ ones hands, feet, head and all . I also managed to capture many wide awake photos, this is so cool, because now you can actually see the light in her eyes, But sleepy ones? No we did not get any sleepy baby photo, that meant no nappy photos . That is the difference between doing a photo shoot within a week or 3 and doing it at 3 months.
But both sessions has its pros and cons. With this session we could capture many photos that shows her eyes. Something I don’t like to photograph with newborn babies. Have you ever noticed how dark a newborn babies eyes are? They also don’t ‘see’, so you just get that in the distance staring.
Also babies that are a wee bit older, might not sleep as much, but not being so new to the world, they also don’t cry all that much, which sometimes make it a little easier for mom and dad .To photographing newborns that is quite sleepy, we get to play and move them around without any complaints . It is amazing how flexible they are at only a week or so , oh here I go again totally wrong direction, getting back to Mia, it is so cute to see how they grow and develop their own personality , all we wait for now is the next session where Mia could possibly be sitting already , and this is where the next chapter of fun photos start .
