Your newborn session is planned to feel calm and easy from start to finish. Once your booking is confirmed, I guide you through what to expect, when to book around your due date, and how to prepare for the day.
When you arrive at my Waverley studio, the room is warm and ready, with wraps, props and setups prepared for your baby. Sessions are paced around feeding, settling and cuddles, so there is no need to rush.
After your photoshoot, I carefully edit your selected images in my soft, timeless style and send them to you as high-resolution digital files.

Newborn sessions are best booked during pregnancy so we can reserve space around your due date, but if baby is already here, you are still welcome to contact me. I always try to help where I can

step one:
Once your booking is confirmed, I’ll guide you through what to expect and how to prepare. We can chat about colours, styling and any special items you would like to include.
My Waverley studio is fully stocked with wraps, outfits, props and soft textures, so you do not need to bring anything unless you would like to. Everything is prepared before you arrive, keeping the day simple and relaxed.
Schedule your session
step two:
When you arrive, the studio is warm, quiet and ready for your baby. We usually start with family and sibling portraits first, while everyone is still fresh and settled.
After that, the session follows your baby’s pace. There is plenty of time for feeding, changing, cuddling and settling while I gently pose and photograph your little one in a calm, baby-led way.

step three:
After your session, you’ll receive an online proof gallery to view at home. You can take your time choosing your favourite images without needing to come back to the studio.
Once you have made your selection, I carefully edit your chosen portraits in my soft, timeless style and send them to you as high-resolution digital files.

Your digital images are delivered in high resolution, ready for you to download and keep safely. If you would like something more tangible, you can also order professional prints, albums or wall art from your finished gallery.

My little boy cries when he’s awake — if he isn’t feeding, he’s crying. I was honestly nervous going into the session but didn’t say anything at first because I so badly wanted newborn photos. When I finally told Jenna that he is always crying, she didn’t hesitate for a second — she simply smiled and said, “Don’t worry.”
And she meant it.
For just over an hour and a half, my baby didn’t cry once. Not a single tear, not a moment of distress. Q: When is the best time to book a newborn photoshoot?
A: The best time to book your newborn photoshoot is while you are still pregnant. I reserve your session around your due date and then we confirm the final date once baby has arrived.
Newborns are usually best photographed within the first 5 to 20 days, while they are still sleepy, curled up and easier to settle into those soft newborn poses.
Q: How old should my baby be for newborn photos?
A: For classic sleepy newborn photos, the ideal age is usually within the first 5 to 20 days after birth. During this stage, babies are still very sleepy and naturally curled, which works beautifully for wrapped poses, tiny details and gentle newborn styling.
Older babies can still be photographed, but the session may include more awake images and adjusted posing.
Q: What if my baby has already been born?
That is completely okay. You are still welcome to contact me if your baby has already arrived. I always try to help where I can, depending on availability.
The sooner you reach out, the better, especially if you would still like sleepy newborn-style images.
Can you still take newborn photos if my baby is two months old?
Yes, absolutely. I photograph babies up to three months old, but the session will look a little different from a very early newborn shoot.
At around two months, babies are usually more awake, more alert and less curled up than they were in the first few weeks. We can still create beautiful baby portraits, but the sleepy, curled newborn poses may not always be possible. I adjust the posing and styling to suit your baby’s age, comfort and stage.
The sooner you reach out, the better, especially if you would still like sleepy newborn-style images..
Q: What if my baby has flaky skin, baby acne, or scratches?
A: Very normal. I gently retouch temporary marks while keeping your baby looking natural and true to life. You don’t need to worry about this at all.
Q: What if my baby arrives early or late?
A: No problem. Your due date holds your spot, and once baby arrives, we adjust the session timing. Early or late, I make space for you..
Q: What if I had a C-section and I am still sore?
A: hat is completely understandable. Newborn sessions are relaxed and slow, with plenty of time for feeding, settling and breaks. You do not need to do anything uncomfortable.
If you are still sore after a C-section, I will guide you gently through any parent photos and keep posing simple and comfortable for you.
Q: Can I bring my dog to the newborn photoshoot?
A: Unfortunately, no pets are allowed in the studio. My newborn sessions are designed around a calm, controlled workflow for babies, parents and siblings, and the sessions are too long to safely and comfortably include pets.
The studio is set up specifically for newborns and young children, so I keep the space limited to people only.
