It feels like just yesterday that we celebrated Buhle’s first birthday, and now it’s her little brother Koketso’s turn! Koketso might be a serious little guy, but he had the best time at his cake smash photo shoot here in Pretoria.

Starting the Session with Family Photos

We began the day with beautiful family portraits, capturing those once-in-a-lifetime moments with his loved ones. These photos are always so special — they tell the story of who we are and what matters most.

Next, we moved on to sibling photos. Koketso’s big sister, Buhle, joined in for some adorable shots that showed their sweet bond. I love including siblings in a smash the cake photo shoot — it makes the gallery even more personal.

Koketso’s mommy had a vision of white, blue, and brown for the cake smash. Instead of choosing a specific character theme, we went for a giant balloon wall in those colours, which created a beautiful, textured backdrop.

After the cake, we finished the session with one of my favourite touches — a warm milk bath. It’s the perfect way to get babies cleaned up while still capturing adorable, splashy moments. Koketso loved it so much he didn’t want to get out of the little tub!
