Reach out and share your due date and what you’d love for your newborn session. I reserve your spot around your delivery, whether baby arrives early or late.
If baby is already born, that’s okay — I try my best to fit in last-minute bookings.
From the start, everything is kept simple and stress-free for you. (Newborn photography bookings for Centurion babies are recommended during pregnancy to reserve your session date.)
step one: booking & planning

Once your session is booked, I’ll send you a simple prep guide and we’ll chat about colours, styling, and any special items you want to include. My Pretoria studio is fully stocked with beautiful wraps, outfits, and props, so you don’t need to bring anything unless you’d like to,. (All newborn wraps and props are provided for Centurion sessions.)
Schedule your session
step two:
When you arrive, the studio is warm, quiet, and ready for you. I start with relaxed family and sibling portraits (seated for moms who need it), and then you can rest while I gently pose and photograph your baby. Sessions are completely baby-led with plenty of time for feeding, cuddling, and settling. You can sit back, have a coffee, and enjoy watching your little one being photographed safely and lovingly.
The newborn appointment
step three:
A few days after your session, you’ll receive an online proof gallery to view at home. You can take your time choosing the images you love most, without needing to travel back to the studio. From there, you simply select your preferred digital collection and decide whether you’d like to add albums, framed prints, or wall art.

Once you’ve made your selections, I hand-edit each chosen image in my signature soft, timeless style. Digital files are delivered via download, and any printed pieces are carefully ordered from professional labs. Your artwork arrives ready to display — beautiful reminders of just how tiny your baby once was, and a keepsake your family can enjoy for years to come.

Your newborn session includes all props, wraps, and styling, along with a calm, baby-led experience in my cozy Pretoria studio. After the session, you’ll receive an online proof gallery so you can select your favourite digital images and artwork from home — no need to travel back to the studio. My little boy cries when he’s awake — if he isn’t feeding, he’s crying. I was honestly nervous going into the session but didn’t say anything at first because I so badly wanted newborn photos. When I finally told Jenna that he is always crying, she didn’t hesitate for a second — she simply smiled and said, “Don’t worry.”
And she meant it.
For just over an hour and a half, my baby didn’t cry once. Not a single tear, not a moment of distress. Q: How long have you been a photographer?
A: I’ve been photographing newborns and families for over 17 years, and my studio in Waverley, Pretoria has been designed specifically for newborn safety and comfort. I’ve worked with hundreds of babies, and you can relax knowing your little one is in expert, gentle hands.
Q: When is the best time to book a newborn session?
A: YThe best time to book is during pregnancy — ideally between 28–34 weeks. I reserve your due date, and once baby arrives, we will schedule the session within the ideal 4–14 day window. If baby is already here, I’ll always try to fit you in.
Q: I just had a C-section and I’m still sore. Will the session be difficult for me?
Not at all. Many of my clients are C-section moms. Family photos are done seated, and you can remain resting while I work with your baby. My assistant helps with all lifting and carrying, and I bring baby to you for feeds. You don’t need to move around — just relax and heal.
Q: What if my baby doesn’t sleep?
No stress. Awake babies make beautiful photos too. Sessions are baby-led, and there’s plenty of time for feeding and soothing. I work with whatever your baby needs.
Q: What if my baby has flaky skin, baby acne, or scratches?
A: Very normal. I gently retouch temporary marks while keeping your baby looking natural and true to life. You don’t need to worry about this at all.
Q: What if my baby arrives early or late?
A: No problem. Your due date holds your spot, and once baby arrives, we adjust the session timing. Early or late, I make space for you..
